EFFINGHAM, Ill.—Effingham authorities are looking for information from the public after an armed robbery occurred in their town this morning.
According to authorities, the Econolodge in Effingham, 1412 West Fayette Avenue, was the location of an armed robbery at 1:56 a.m. this morning. At that time, a white male, wearing a black ski mask and short-sleeved shirt, entered the front of the building, displaying a weapon, which prompted the desk person to leave out a back way. The robber then accessed the cash register and took an as-yet-undetermined amount of money before leaving. There were no injuries reported.
The subject was further described as being about 5-foot-8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, described as a thin build.
