WAYNE CO.–According to authorities, this morning (Aug. 7, 2014) at approximately 6:35 a.m., a pick-up truck drove up the steps of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge located at 102 S. First St. in Fairfield, towards the front doors, running into the brick facing and knocking over the railing.
Fairfield assistant police chief Silas Eckelberry said a Chevrolet pickup driven by Aaron Meloy was east bound on Delaware Street in Fairfield when he ran a red light and struck a Chevrolet 4-door that was driven by Nicole Kline, 41, of Fairfield, as Kline was turning left on to Delaware Street. Eckleberry said neither Kline nor Meloy needed assistance at the time Eckelberry was on scene, but Kline later was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries.
Meloy received a simple traffic ticket for running a red light.
