Since the Illinois Supreme Court amended rules two years ago, cameras have been allowed in courtrooms in 40 counties around the state.
Now, six counties in central Illinois are expected to join the pilot program.
Recording video, audio and taking pictures has never been allowed in Sangamon county courtrooms; but that may soon change.
David and Janet Elder are hoping it does, before their brother’s murder trial begins.
“People ought to know what’s going on,” David said.
Raymond McBride and Christopher Coleman, the two men charged with the stabbing death of James Michael Goins in May, just pleaded not guilty last week.
