SALINE CO.— According to Saline County Sheriff Keith Brown, his department responded to several incidents yesterday (Friday, July 4).
According to information provided, at approximately 2:37 p.m. Saline County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one car roll over on US Hwy 45 North, near Washington Road on the Saline-Gallatin County line.
Saline County deputies responded to the accident along with Med-Force EMS and Gallatin County officers.
The call was handled by Gallatin County authorities, who reported one person injured and taken to Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
The Illinois State Police assisted with the accident.
Lost in Garden of the Gods
At 4:35 p.m. Saline County Dispatch received a 911 call of a man lost near the Garden of the Gods, located in the southeastern portion of Saline County.
County deputies, along with U.S. Forest Service and the Equality Fire Department responded to the area.
The man, identified as Glenn Haggard, of French Lick, Ind., had walked down a trail from the observation area and then got off the path.
Saline dispatch was able to continue to plot the caller and relay coordinates to the responders to locate Haggard.
He was located at 5:31 p.m. and was uninjured.
Woman injured/flown out
Authorities also responded to a one-vehicle accident at 5:32 p.m. on Ill. Hwy 145 South, south of Butler Road, in which an injured woman had to be flown to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
