A Vincennes man was arrested in connection with a series of arsons and an attempted arson.
The Vincennes Fire Department issued a press release Thursday afternoon that James Leroy Linn Beamon, 22, is facing several preliminary charges, including four counts of arson, class B felonies; one count of attempted arson, a class B felony; and one probation violation.
According to the press release, Beamon admitted to involvement in the following fires:
- Gimbel Bond Building, located at 210 Main St. on Dec. 17, 2011;
- Garage/Commercial Building owned by David Shelton at 1241 Washington Ave. on June 3, 2013 (according to earlier reports opne fireman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and treated for heat exhaustion due to fighting the fire);
- Pine Box, located at 1043 Washington Ave. on March 23, 2014;
- C&G Cleaners, located at 1825 Washington Ave. on May 21, 2014.
