Tami Jackson in green, talking to the media on the levee of the Ohio River in Rosiclare March 20, 2014.

From the latest out of Tami Jackson’s keyboard, you’d think that she’s regretting ever having dragged the TV stations around with her every time she stepped out of her house to look for her sister, the late Chrissy Williams.

And yet, that’s exactly what’s going on.

Nearly all of southern Illinois and surrounding states were riveted for three and a half months between December 2013 and March 2014 regarding to case of missing woman Chrissy Williams of Shawneetown, whose body was found in her submerged SUV March 20 at Rosiclare.

But since about the third week of May, there’s been no big news to report on the matter: Nothing since the release of Williams’ autopsy report, via her sister, Tami Jackson.

Why has Jackson, who had aided in the riveting by ensuring that most media (the ones she approved of) followed her and reported her findings (even though many of them were misguided and at times, ventured into the ridiculous; and who also refused to cover the fact that she was arrested on two initial felony counts that were reduced to a misdemeanor), resorted to this diatribe?

Attention: we as a family are trying to get back to normal as much as possible and still deal with a lot if bs. Please do not give my parents or myself newspapers with articles full of lies about who did what during the investigation and search efforts, because we know the truth. We were the ones out there everyday looking, not giving up. We were told she just took off on her own free will, that we didnt know she was missing for a fact, it was only after she didnt show up in san diego on January 10 that we started to be taken seriously. I always said it would be us, our search teams and/or the volunteers that would find her and thats what happened. Fbi never came in coast guard only came an assessed the river conditions didnt scan and said they would be back but didnt come. Atleast thats what we were told by officials so unless they lied then thats that. Do you all not see how now they are trying to turn me into the bad person and the family? I can handle it, but I draw the line at my parents who are senior citizens. Leave them alone. In passing, dont ask about the case or bring chrissy up to them. It just keeps stabbing the knife deeper into our hearts. For now on, I will only shop in places where I am not known. Its pathetic when we cant even go out into public to try to enjoy ourselves and have the kids with us only to be stopped multiple times while there for all of this to be brought up again. Papers can print what they want however most of the time its onesided and designed to sell papers. If you were not there walking hundreds of miles over the 4 months in unbearable conditions then in my opinion you have no right to judge anyone nor talk about it cause probably what you have heard is hear say and rumors. My opinion on the judgements if you are trying to judge me, you are behind me for a reason and thats so you can kiss my a$$ cause I really dont care. But my parents have been through enough ( both along with myself are on major medication to help us cope) and so have my kids and nephew and I will protect them just like I tried to do for my sister. Just drop it all cause chrissy does not deserve this, she deserves peace and so does our family. People who prey on the misfortune of others are low down pathetic good for nothing scum of the earth along with those who try to profit off of a families heartache and frustration through pics, screenshots or whatever. You, my so called friends, will burn in hell. And thats all I have to say about that. Let’s just say today, we left immediately and had to pop a pill or two just to get calmed down. How would like to have to live that way?

Those who have followed the story thus far with see the disparities with this diatribe right away.

First of all, this is the same person who wanted massive media coverage on the case in order to “solve” her sister’s death? Apparently, only select media—that which doesn’t ask questions, like TV—fall into that category. “Don’t bring up Chrissy”? Wasn’t that the focus of everything…including live-streaming the funeral? (a move which really appalled a large number of people, and diminished Jackson’s efforts in the eyes of those in Hardin, where Williams was ultimately found). Going “to places where I’m not known”? Wasn’t that the point of having something on TV every so many days for several months…to make herself and those around her “known”…as well as starting her own search and rescue agency, for which the public has been told that money collected in the form of donations was to be used? Is “coverage” now known as “judging”? And this “pill-popping” thing…isn’t that what was in part responsible for Williams’ death?

This is just the latest in the bizarre developments in the case, and all coming on the heels of Jackson making the autopsy report public before authorities were ready for that. Now, there’s a distinct possibility that the investigation has been compromised…and it may very well be that this is what Jackson is lashing out about, perhaps in embarrassment, perhaps in frustration. It’s understandable if that’s what it’s attributed to…but it’s not helping her cause any.

In the interim, here’s the article that might have been what pushed her into making such an inane public statement, for your evening Read the Lead, Sister makes autopsy reports public, before investigation into death is complete.

HARDIN/GALLATIN COs.—The revelation that the autopsy report conducted on Chrissy Williams had been publicly disseminated by her sister Tami Jackson was one that came as a complete surprise to Hardin County and state officials, who are still in the investigation stage of Williams’ death.

And while the fallout from the matter is still being assessed, authorities, attempting to keep a tight lid on the results of their investigation to date, are unable to openly comment on the situation, making it all the more frustrating for those without an agenda who simply are waiting for an outcome in the case that’s had people riveted to news about it since early December 2013.

Williams, 39, most recently of Shawneetown in neighboring Gallatin County, went missing on the evening of the 2nd of that month, after a night out with friends who described her as being “distraught” prior to her disappearance. She was last seen by two Rosiclare residents, Briannah Davis and Scotty Miller, but her whereabouts were unaccounted for after about 9 p.m. that evening.

Over the course of several weeks, searches turned up nothing. It wasn’t until the family, guided by Jackson, put an independent water search team on the Ohio River off the banks of Rosiclare March 20, within mere yards of the Miller family’s private river access, that the truck Williams was driving on the night of her disappearance was found, right where Jackson directed the team to search…and Williams’ body was discovered inside.

Both before and during the searches, Jackson was extremely vocal about the job law enforcement—a combination of multiple counties, municipalities, state and even some federal agencies—was doing. Her attempts to micromanage the search lead to frustration for most involved, herself not excluded.

But since the discovery of Williams’ body, Jackson’s criticisms took a decided ramp up in intensity. And despite her outwardly-magnanimous efforts toward being a catalyst for others whose family members have gone missing, who have had difficulties in searches and who have suffered much the same her family has in the wake of her sister’s death, there’s been an underlying tone that many in and around Hardin County are expressing their belief over as being that of disingenuousness…and her support base seems to be falling away with each….
