GALLATIN CO. (Shawneetown), Ill.—One of the fest season’s first events is preparing for its final evening tonight, and organizers are hoping plenty of people get out and enjoy the carnival, food and bands that will be entertaining the crowd.
The opening night of Coal Days 2014 was Tuesday, June 3, and that was a wet one, with many events being rained out. However, things have gone well since that time, and tonight, Glastones, plain from 8 p.m. until midnight. So despite the possibly rainy weather on the way in later this evening, there’s still plenty of time to get out and enjoy Coal Days 2014…head on over to Shawneetown. And in the meantime, here are some scenes from the fest as it went on this week.
