LAWRENCE CO., Ill.—The Illinois State Police out of District 12 worked the traffic crash Sunday afternoon that left a young Lawrenceville man dead.
ISP has confirmed that Hayden W. Webster, 18, was killed in the single-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:58 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Webster was driving a red 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Highway 250 westbound just east of Bridgeport when, just west of County Road 900 East, he veered off to the left for unknown reasons and at that point left the roadway. The Jeep traveled across a residential lawn and subsequently struck a tree; the ensuing crash was what proved fatal to Webster. ISP reports that Webster was wearing his seatbelt.
ISP’s investigation into the crash continues.
