(KMOV.com) – Police in Illinois will be stepping up patrols as part of a safe driving campaign starting Friday night.
A Caseyville police officer told News 4, officers will be looking for seat belt violations, speeding violations and anything indicating drunk driving.
Police say more off-duty officers will be called in, especially on the weekends, to assist with the extra enforcement. More than 200 police departments in Illinois will be taking part in the campaign.
