HARRISBURG JEWELRY THIEF SENTENCED YESTERDAY

SALINE CO., Ill.—Saline County authorities brought a Harrisburg burglary and theft to a successful conclusion in court yesterday.

Claudia Jill Oldani, 49, of Harrisburg, Illinois pled guilty and was sentenced on April 30, 2014 in Saline County Circuit Court by Judge Walden E. Morris to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, 2 years mandatory supervised release and costs.

Oldani pled guilty to Residential Burglary, a Class 1 Felony. Class 1 felonies are punishable by a term of 4 to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and a $25,000 fine. The Harrisburg Police Department led the investigation of Oldani.

On May 18, 2013 Ms. Oldani burglarized the residence at 710 S. Main Street, Harrisburg. Taken from the residence were various items of jewelry and car keys. The subsequent investigation led Harrisburg officers to Oldani. Upon making contact with Oldani several items of jewelry taken during the burglary were recovered.
Assistant State’s Attorney, Jason A. Olson, led the successful prosecution of Oldani.
