LAWRENCE CO., Ill.—The station manager of Lawrence County’s only radio station died yesterday in Evansville.
S. Kent Lankford, 58, died at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was the long-time general manager of WAKO in Lawrenceville, one of the more listenable radio stations in southeastern Illinois with an Adult Contemporary format and great news, serving primarily Lawrence, Crawford, Richland and Wabash counties in Illinois and Knox, Gibson and Daviess counties in Indiana.
There’s been no public word on cause of death.
Funeral arrangements are being planned for this weekend at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, through Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
