ARREST MADE IN ANNA HOMICIDE

UNION CO., Ill. — The investigation into the death of an Anna resident has resulted in the arrest of one individual.

James Morrison, 46, of Anna was found was found unresponsive outside of his home during the very early hours of the morning Saturday by police, who responded after receiving a 911 call. The call was received by dispatch at about 3:00AM, and officers were sent to 313 Douglas Street, where Morrison was found.

He later was declared deceased at the Union County Hospital.

An investigation has been ongoing into Morrison’s death, and has now produced one arrest. Jessie Bell, 34, was arrested late Saturday afternoon, and is charged with First Degree Murder in the Death of Morrison.

Bell is currently being held without bail at this time; it’s expected it will be set tomorrow.
