HARRISBURG—Residents of Saline and surrounding counties in southern Illinois are bracing for more severe weather headed their way.

There are sustained winds within this storm of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 45. Of course, wind speeds such as that may or may not accompany tornadic activity, so just the winds alone can be damaging to the structures already compromised by Wednesday’s storm.
The Harrisburg Library has announced that they are going to open up their facility as a temporary shelter from noon until 6 when the worst of the storm will be passing. Please pass this information along, and let those who are concerned about their arrangements know that the library will be available.
We realize the weather is unpredictable. Our staff in Harrisburg is on the ground and ready. We have another video of Wednesday—the rescue effort—ready to go up. We are leaving here to head to tha burg to cover this or anything that may come of it….and hopefully, nothing will, but we are prepared.
Keep checking back.
