WILLIAMSON CO., Ill.—As promised, here’s what we know of the backstory regarding the disappearance of a Herrin girl, Jordann Danielle Robinson, the details of which were learned upon Jordann making contact with her mom Sunday after “missing” for about 24 hours.
Rolla McFarland, Jordann’s mom who lives in Herrin, advised that she had actually last seen Jordan, age 23, just a couple of weeks before when she dropped her off at Jordann’s house in Herrin after grocery shopping.
After not hearing from Jordann for a while, McFarland said she went back to the house to look for her…and while there were people there, no one would answer the door, including Jordann.
McFarland then learned that Jordann supposedly had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend, Ryan Horton; and he ultimately told McFarland that he’d last seen Jordann the previous Thursday night when they were at some bar in Herrin.
McFarland filed a missing persons report on Sunday afternoon, but only with Herrin police, not Williamson County or ISP, because she didn’t want to send up an Amber Alert, as those are generally reserved fork abducted/endangered persons. As soon as McFarland reported it, Herrin police started making inquiries, and through that networking, Jordann, who was staying in Carbondale with unknown persons, popped up and told her mom where she was, and that she was okay.
McFarland said Jordan had been living a kind of “vagabond lifestyle with some shady characters.” Messages on her phone lead them to believe there is other stuff involved, and posts made to Jordann’s social networking pages “may have been made by someone else.” McFarland advised that Jordann hadn’t been working; and neither does the bunch she was hanging out with. There had been some indication that the boyfriend had taken Jordann’s phone from her and wouldn’t let her make any calls or texts out on it, but that has not been confirmed.
Apparently all is well now…but the situation was tense in the overnight hours of Saturday night, March 15, and on into Sunday evening, when Jordann opted to let her mother know she was okay.
