Sick freak under suspicion of murder blows up his house—and his kids

GRAHAM, Washington—In a story that we’ve not followed here at Disclosure but a lot of mainstream outlets have, there may have been a resolution to a ‘disappearance’ case out West—but it’s not a good one.

From a Washington media outlet, republished here under the Fair Use Act

Here’s the backstory: Apparently, this guy, Josh Powell, took his wife, Susan, camping in subzero temps in December 2009 and conveniently “lost” her. He’s been the only “person of interest” in her disappearance all this time, but authorities said they just couldn’t do anything about it. Susan’s parents were able to get the Powells’ two little boys away from Josh Powell and they were awarded custody by the court, but Powell was able to have regular weekend visitation…even though Powell has been recently ordered to undergo a psych-sexual evaluation, because all along, the court believed there just was something not quite right about the guy.

It was at one of these weekend visits—earlier this afternoon, Feb. 5—that his house just blew up and an inferno ensued, crisping one adult and two youths inside, these believed to be Josh Powell and the two little boys.

While this may not have anything to do with what’s going on in southern Illinois, it does emphasize the dangers of continuing to send little kids on unsupervised visits with parents that are clearly not fit to be around them. it also underscores what’s ridiculous about some law enforcement venues that they can “do nothing” about certain obvious crimes when there’s no body for there to be declared a crime. That, as we’ve learned over the years, is up to the prosecutor to declare foul play has occurred (especially after TWO YEARS) and move forward with pursuing criminal charges. And we all know about the worth of several of our local prosecutors….some are alright, but some are overzealous in some areas and non-existent in others when it comes to prosecuting crime.

Sadly enough, the custodial grandparents have stated that “they knew Josh would do something like this.” Custodial grandparents are intuitive, just like caring parents. People should listen more to them….including the cops and the courts. Just sayin.

Our sympathies to the family….this was a horrific and ridiculous way for this debacle to end.
