LAWRENCEVILLE—A house and car located on 11th Street in Lawrenceville were the subjects of a shooting very early this morning, and it looks like the shooting was an intimidation step regarding a court case.

While we don’t have the full details yet, folks in the area report that Lawrenceville police chief Mike Mefford was knocking on their doors this morning, asking residents if they had “seen or heard” anything regarding a shoot-up of the house located at 1615 11th Street, which he reported occurred between 5 and 6 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, January 24.

From Jason Frederick's Facebook page

Reportedly residing in the house are three people, Jason and Tiffany Frederick, and a third guy whose name we’re working on, but he goes by the racial-slur nickname of “Nigger James.” Apparently, one of these folks (reportedly James) has a drug trial this week in Lawrence. However, of the Fredericks, Jason, 31, was the subject of a dope bust effected Jan. 11, wherein he was popped for possession of meth less than 5 grams. He’s reportedly still sitting in jail. Locals reports there were 5 to 6 shots that hit the auto at the residence; one bullet was found lodged in the back door of the residence (reportedly in the lock, of all places), which is owned by Bud Pentell and is being rented to the Fredericks; neighbors report they just moved in to the place a couple of weeks ago. Mrs. Frederick works at one of the local nursing homes; there’s been no indication of whether she was home or at work when the shots were fired.

Mefford, in true Misfit form, was going house to house (HA, considering his religious background….) this morning, asking neighbors, a couple of hours after the fact, if they’d seen or heard anything. Crime scene tape is up right now, and locals are reporting there’s a bullet hole in the back glass of the car, lodged in the dash, and 4 to 5 in the driver’s side of the car. Altogether, nine casings have been found. No indication of the caliber. However, as the locals are telling it, “someone was trying to send a message.”

When we get more on it, we’ll bring it if we can; Ang has signings today in Benton and then Owensville, Ind., so just keep checking back….and if you know anything or live in the area, feel free to post on what you saw or heard.
