OBLONG (CRAWFORD CO.), Ill.—Crawford County residents have received information from their local CrimeStoppers organization about a reward being offered for resolution of a series of recent crimes.
Crawford County CrimeStoppers has announced on their Facebook page that they’re offering a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) who have committed a series of burglaries in Oblong.
Oblong Police Chief Chad Pusey says several businesses have been broken into. The first one happened on December 27, 2013 at the Main Street Diner. Someone kicked in the rear door of the restaurant and took money.
On Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, someone kicked in the side door at Rusty Nail Hardware. They were also called to Pizza and More where someone kicked in the side door and took cash.
Also, on January 11, 2014, Dr. Szigethy reported a break-in at his office. The front door was kicked in. Taken was several televisions and money. ISP Crime Scene Investigations assisted with the scene.
