NEW ORLEANS, La.—A young man described as a “transient” by local officials in New Orleans, and reportedly with a former address in Saline County, Illinois, is being termed the city’s “second murder victim of 2014.”
While details are scant, what we do know is that local reports indicate Henry “Hank” Collins III, 21, of Carrier Mills, was shot in the chest while in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans on January 9 at around 6:40 a.m., and died a short time later at Interim LSU Public Hospital.
Authorities were able to determine Collins’ identity and that he had reported addresses in both the states of Mississippi and Illinois, specifically, Carrier Mills on the latter.
