WHITE CO.—The mystery of all the scanner traffic going on in and around Norris City over the weekend has been solved…sort of.
YIKES.....
According to reports, the situation seems to be that one Robert L. York, 35, of Norris City, was pissed off at a Carmi man, Steven A. Ellis, 31, and took off after him, this all based on the notion that they were “dating the same girl.” Allegedly, York, who is known in the area as somewhat of a hothead anyway, held Ellis at knifepoint, with the knife to Ellis’ throat. However, York let him go….then came BACK to Ellis and did the same damn thing again…allegedly, of course…but left yet again.
Scanner listeners reported that the frequencies were all lit up with the effort to locate York, but no one was successful, and apparently haven’t been so to date. So there’s no apprehension, hothead York is still running around loose, we don’t even know who the girl is or whether there’s any merit to that facet of it or not, and it’s unclear if efforts to find York are even continuing at this point, what with the “paid holiday” and all.
Maybe we’ll be able to get in touch with Scott Webb here in a day or so and figure this out…in the meantime, if you see York, you probably should let authorities know.
