HARDIN CO.—In a follow up to a post we delivered last night, the man who was involved in a motorcycle/semi accident at the intersection of Highways 146 and 34 in Hardin County has survived, but his injuries are severe.
It’s been reported to us that Dan Curry, the motorcyclist, has been hospitalized at St. Mary’s in Evansville. Curry has lost his left leg from above the knee down.
His other injuries include severe breaks in multiple places along his left arm, as well as a crushed elbow; broken left collar bone; broken right foot and lots of scratches, scrapes (road rash) and other surface injuries, giving him a very battered appearance. Curry is reported be heavily sedated but is responsive.
Authorities are still investigating the accident, and we’ve yet to learn other details, such as the trucking company, as well as who authorities believe might be at fault in the devastating collision, and if anyone will be cited.
