UPDATE 4:45pm:
Extensive damage in Brookport.
At least 20 plus emergency vehicles including fire, police and ambulances from McCracken County, KY have responded to Brookport, IL. Leaking gas lines and downed power lines are being reported.
A temporary hospital is setup at the Brookport Elementary School.
BROOKPORT, Ill. — We are sending a corespondent to Brookport, Ill., in Massac County to report back.
Initial reports are that there is major damage to over 50 mobile homes, reportedly in a trailer park.
Traffic is restricted to about a mile out of Brookport from the west side coming from Metropolis, Ill.
Firetrucks, ambulances as well as local and state police are reportedly called out to Brookport.
Reports of accidents on Unionville Road in Brookport and the base of the Brookport bridge on the Kentucky side are also coming in. Vehicles are reported off the road and in ditches along Unionville Road just outside of Brookport.
Several agencies from Paducah area responding to Brookport now.
