MARION—Reports coming in at about a quarter til 2 today indicated that the building in downtown Marion, housing Jackson and Gray Insurance, was fully involved in fire.
Our correspondent was on scene shortly after 2 and was able to film/shoot the response at the still-smouldering blaze.
Jackson and Gray is reported to be owned by L.C. Cavaness and his son Jon.
At about 2:30, the report was that the business, at least, was pretty much gutted; however, we’ll wait for the fire officials’ reports before final confirmation.
Jackson and Gray has been the city’s insurance provider and, we’re hearing, bonding agent, for the past 40-50 years.
