LAWRENCE CO. – The Lawrenceville City Council voted this week to correct an inconsistency in the city liquor ordinance.
The vote was held after the State of Illinois pointed out the inconsistency in the city’s liquor ordinance which prohibited alcohol sales between 2:00am and 6:00am for bars, but limited gaming establishments to the hours between 12 noon and midnight.
The state pointed out that the ordinance needed to be the same for every establishment.
Lawrenceville City Council voted unanimously to amend the ordinance.
In other Lawrenceville news, NewWave Communications announced to the City Council that it intends to provide wi-fi access in the downtown Lawrenceville area, pending the council’s decision on whether or not to extend the city’s contract with NewWave.
