HARRISBURG—An accident a little earlier this afternoon (Thursday, September 26, 2013) has left a house at the corner of Raymond and South Main streets in pretty bad shape; Lyndi has the NewsBlast:
Here’s her report:
A U-Haul truck is being removed from the front of a home that it ran into at about 2:30 p.m. after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The driver of the truck was heading northbound on South Main Street, just north of the Discount Food Mart in Harrisburg, at approximately 2:30 p.m., when he lost control of the vehicle and ran into an unoccupied home. The truck veered over the southbound lane of the road, jumped the curb, ran over two trees and ran into the front of the home. The truck struck the middle of the front facade and continued until it was stopped by the northern wall of the house. The reason that the driver lost control of the vehicle was unknown.
The driver was not injured, and the home’s owner was not on the property. The owner of the home did come to the site, and told us that the home was unoccupied because she owns another home on the opposite side of the street, and had not yet put the home on the market for sale or rent. She reported that this is the second time that this particular home has been run into by a vehicle. She was just glad that no one was injured.
