WHITE CO.—A weekend incident in White County has turned very painful for a Maunie man, and authorities are on the lookout for a car believed to have been used in the commission of an alleged meth crime.
According to White County Sheriff’s reports, Jerrod P. Farney, 37, of Maunie, was a passenger in a red Camaro that pulled up to the home of Gordon Farney (Jerrod’s dad) on Vine Street in Maunie at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013.
The younger Farney was “screaming in pain,” Gordon Farney told sheriff’s deputies, as he got out of the car. Jerrod Farney told his brother, Jason, that he’d been burned in a cloud of vapor while collecting anhydrous with the driver of the Camaro…who, naturally, took of out of the tiny riverside village like a bat out of hell as soon as Farney cleared the vehicle.
And naturally, despite his obviously painful condition, Jerrod Farney refused to identify the driver.
An ambulance was called for Jerrod Farney, and he was transported to Deaconess in Evansville for treatment of his burns. When Disclosure spoke with White County Sheriff Doug Maier tonight, the sheriff said he hadn’t heard what Farney’s condition was.
However, Maier did say that they had a pretty good fix on who the Camaro driver was, and stated that they believe he’ll be brought in for questioning pretty soon.
