HARRISBURG—Here’s the official press information from Illinois State Police District 19, which worked the accident last night on Commercial and Sloan in Harrisburg.
The personal injury crash occurred last night (Saturday, August 31) at 11:44 p.m. at the intersection where Huck’s sits on the main drag through town.
According to ISP’s preliminary report: A driver of a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, Robin S. Seets, 49, of Tucson, Arizona, was southbound on Commercial (Highway 45) and had slowed his speed before entering the intersection at Sloan.
Evan L. Edwards, 20, of Stonefort, driver of a 2007 Ford Focus, was also southbound on Commercial, behind Seets. Edwards failed to reduce his speed and struck the rear of the motorcycle.
Seets was thrown from the motorcycle, and sustained major injuries. He was transported from the scene to Harrisburg Medical Center by Saline County EMS
Edwards was arrested for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
ISP doesn’t have any update on the current status of Seets’ condition.
