RICHLAND CO.—Motorists along U.S. 50 and Illinois Route 130, use caution today going through the four-way south of Olney.
There isn’t exactly a checkpoint set up, but there are DOC officials and local authorities looking at vehicles as they go by at the intersection.
This is likely the result of the manhunt for escaped Robinson Correctional prisoner Jared Carter, who has not been located yet.
As a reiteration, there are officials standing at the four-way, NOT stopping vehicles, nor talking to anyone in the vehicles, but looking at drivers and passengers as they go by.
Just so everyone knows: We HAVE confirmed with Richland authorities that there have been NO reports of Carter being sighted in the county. Please be aware of this. The checks are just that—checks. It’s a precaution, not a reaction.
If we learn more, we’ll bring it.
