GRAYVILLE—The old high school in the city of Grayville, which sits high atop the hill on the south side of town, remains ablaze tonight (before midnight, 08.24.13)
The building has been untenanted for a number of years now, and has been without utilities for at least as long, so there’s no way the fire could have been caused by old or faulty wiring.
Reports began coming in at 10 p.m. here, but it’s unclear exactly how long the building has been ablaze. All surrounding fire departments have been called in to battle it, as the building is literally across a narrow street from Meadowood Nursing Home and there are a number of residences close by.
Last we knew, the building was privately owned.
