HAMILTON CO.—Illinois State Police are reporting a traffic crash in Hamilton County that occurred earlier this afternoon, Monday, August 19, 2013.
According to preliminary information, Terri Ann Scott, 34, of Thompsonville, was traveling in a 2003 Pontiac Montana eastbound on Illinois Route 14 when, at 2:48 this afternoon, she lost consciousness due to her pacemaker.
She was approximately one-tenth of a mile west of Hamilton County Road 100E, when the vehicle struck a ditch on the left side of the roadway. The car traveled another 3.2 miles before becoming disabled due to the damage.
Scott was transported to Hamilton Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Cherry Street Automotive of Carmi. ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the McLeansboro Police Department and Harre Ambulance Service.
No citations were injured in the crash.
