
Plenty of Scott's Law violations cited, too
CLAY CO., Ill. - Clay County Sheriff's deputies were like a good Kirby vacuum in mid-April: They were going around sucking up everybody in the county who had outstanding warrants, including several out-of-county.
As well, deputies are issuing plenty of citations for Scott's Law violations, wherein people won't move over or yield for stopped emergency vehicles.
Here's the report, which covers the time frame of April 14 to 23, 2019.
April 14, Johnny W. Smith, 35, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of D.U.I. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He appeared in Clay County Court and was released.
April 15, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Jennifer Marshall, 30, Lawrenceville, for Failure to Yield Right of way Emergency Vehicle (Scott's Law). She was given a Notice to Appear and released.
April 15, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited a 17-year-old male, Flora, for Failure to To Change Lanes for Emergency Vehicle (Scott's Law). He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
April 15, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Phyllis Dillworth, 59, Flora, for Failure to Yield Emergency Vehicle (Scott's Law). She was given a Notice to Appear and released.
April 15, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Travis Bailey, 46, Louisville, for Failure to Yield Emergency Vehicle (Scott's Law). He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
April 16, Jennifer Cochran, 28, Clay City, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.
April 16, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Timothy Scanlon, 58, Salem, for Failure to Yield Emergency Vehicle (Scott's Law). He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
April 16, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Amanda Croft, 33, Chicago, for Violation of Scott's Law. She was given a Notice to Appear and released.
April 17, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Jordan M. Thomas, 26, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Contempt of Court. Bond set at $100.00 cash. He posted bond and was released.
April 19, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 6:20 p.m. at the 2700 Block of Ingraham Lane. Apparently Mark A. Prosser, 51, Olney, operating a 2011 Jeep was traveling west on Ingraham Lane, slowed to turn and was struck by a 2005 Dodge
Truck operated by Robert J. Adams, 27, Olney. No injuries reported.
April 19, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Robert J. Adams, 27, Olney, on an outstanding Richland County warrant for Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $100,000.00 (10 percent). He was transported to the Richland County Jail.
April 21, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Brittany L. Keller, 26, Louisville, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft. Bond set in the amount of $2,500.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She appeared in Clay County court and was released.
April 22, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Steven T. Felty, 27, Clay City, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $20,000.00 (10 percent). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
April 22, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Tammy Beverly, 49, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver's License Suspended. Bond set at $1,500.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.
April 22, John R. Sherman, 25, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Obstructing Justice and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalita. Bond set in the amount of $4,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
April 23, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Brandon M. Behnke, 23, Clay City, on an outstanding Marion County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set in the amount of $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. Behnke was also wanted on a Clinton County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon/Vehicle. Bond set in the amount of $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond on both warrants and was released.
