WHITE CO.—Illinois State Police worked a traffic crash on Illinois Route 1 just off the Interstate last Thursday (August 1, 2013) that resulted in a Lawrence County woman being injured.
According to ISP’s investigation of the crash, it occurred on Route 1 approximately one-half mile west of Interstate 64 in White County at 8:32 a.m. this morning. Terry L. Russell, 59, of Enfield, was southbound on Route 1 in a 2001 Chevrolet truck when for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and sideswiped a northbound 2010 Ford Mustang being driven by Sarah Kay Loftin, 23, of Sumner.
Russell was not injured. Loftin was transported by White County Ambulance to Wabash General in Mt. Carmel for treatment of her injuries.
The Chevy truck was removed from the scene by Wabash Valley Service Company; the Mustang was removed by Rick’s Towing in Grayville. ISP was assisted at the crash scene by Grayville police, White County Ambulance and Little Wabash Fire Department.
Russell was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
