CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - One of the two punk teens arrested two months ago for burglaries in the village of Palestine has been sentenced in Crawford County Circuit Court.

Keondre Weck

Keondre Weck, 18, was sentenced yesterday (Wednesday, April 17) in his Burglary cases, one dating back to late last year, one dating back to earlier this year.

Weck had been sentenced in the Saratoga Tavern Burglary (occurring in December) in Palestine on January 9 to two years Probation. However, having been given such a break, he was charged with Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property in the Burglary of Sudsy-Dudsy Laundromat and Brock’s Storage, both in Palestine, almost immediately after that (February 18, 2019). So his probation was converted to a sentence to run concurrent with the second burglary, for three years of incarceration. He’s to be on parole for two years following release….and somehow in there, he’s to pay $3,204.56 in unpaid fines and fees on the two convictions.

Zachary Patrick

Another man was sentenced yesterday in Crawford County Circuit Court as well: Zachary Patrick, 27 of Stoy, received a sentence of four years in prison, to be followed by two years of parole, this for burglaries as well. Patrick’s crimes date back to October 2017 (initial two charges of Burglary), then he was busted for Burglary again on January 26 of this year, resulting in a plea deal. Patrick, incidentally, owes $2,706.58 in unpaid fines and fees on the three burglary charges since 2017….and $1,822 in unpaid F&F on a meth charge dating back to 2017, none of which the county will likely ever see, but the wheels of justice continue to grind away at the taxpayer in Crawford.
