Mid-month matters in Clay: Sheriff’s activity report

CLAY CO., Ill. - Here's a brief rundown of Clay County Sheriff's Department activity for the middle of the month of April, the 10th through the 15th, as supplied by Sheriff Andy Myers.

April 10, Michael S. Lewis, 37, Ingraham, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon and Driving While Driver's License Revoked. Bond set in the amount of $250,000.00 (10 percent). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County
Jail.

April 12, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Danette Frey, 43, Louisville, on an outstanding Effingham County Contempt warrant. Bond set at $100.00 cash. She posted bond and was released.

April 15, Courtney C. Smith, 33, Cottage Hills, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of D.U.I. Bond set in the amount of $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.

April 15, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Rt 45/50 and U.S. Rt. 45 South. Apparently Roger Murphy, 64, Flora, operating a 2013 Kia Sorenton was traveling east on Hwy. 45, slowed to turn and was struck by
another eastbound vehicle operated by Barbara L. Pritchard, 20, Louisville, operating a 2001 Buick Century. The impact caused the Murphy vehicle to overturn. Minor injuries reported.
