KNOX CO., Ind. - Indiana State Police made an arrest last night after what might rightly be called a shameful display by a father who left his kids behind following a DUI wreck.
ISP said that last night (Sunday, March 31) at approximately 7:20 p.m., Trooper Brock Buchanan responded to a single vehicle crash on SR 67 near Bruceville.
When Trooper Buchanan arrived he found a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck that had left the roadway and overturned. Two young boys were found at the scene, but the driver was seen running away by a nearby homeowner. The nine and 10-year-old boys were not injured.
The driver, Brandon L. Davis, 37, of Vincennes, was found nearby and he exhibited signs of impairment. Davis is the father of the two boys. Davis was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where further investigation revealed he had a blood alcohol content of .24 percent. The two boys were released to their mother. Davis was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
