Carrier Mills man sentenced in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - A man from Carrier Mills in Saline County has been sentenced in his case in neighboring Williamson County, making short work of the situation that occurred literally a couple of months ago.

Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti said that earlier today (March 22, 2019), Stephen Jolly II, 44, of Carrier Mills pleaded guilty to Aggravated Domestic Battery (a Class 2 felony) and Domestic Battery (a Class A misdemeanor), and was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On January 27, 2019, Jolly was arrested by Marion Police officers following an incident at the Marion Walmart where he repeatedly struck and strangled a woman with whom he had a past relationship. There were witnesses to the incident.

Jolly has a criminal history including multiple convictions out of Saline County, and a battery conviction out of Hardin County. Jolly will be on mandatory supervised release for four years following his release from DOC.
