CARMI, Ill. - A young woman from Harrisburg learned the hard way yesterday that a person can't tote around a set of brass knuckles, as they're considered a weapon in Illinois.
Carmi police reports indicate that at 2:45 p.m. yesterday (Monday, March 11), Sarah A. Bohnert, 29, of a Harrisburg address according to documents, was stopped north of Carmi on Route 1. After a license check, the officer learned that she was driving on a suspended license.
During the inventory search of the vehicle, however, a set of brass knuckles was found, so Bohnert was additionally charged with Unlawful Use of Weapons for possession of those.
She was taken to the city-/county jail, where she was able to post the requisite cash bond.

In other Carmi PD news, the sex offender whose parents didn't know how to spell "Michael" is back in the news.
