
MT. CARMEL, Ill. - The rowdiness continues in the city of Mt. Carmel, where police have been dealing with the usual assortment of alleged crims, but warrant arrests this past week and weekend ruled the day.
White wanted in Wayne (alliteration always…)
On March 1, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Blaze L. White, 20 of Albion, after police observed him walking in the 200 block of W. Fifth Street. The arresting officer knew White was wanted on a Wayne County failure to appear warrant, so he took White into custody and transported him to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $400.00 cash bond.
Edwards warrant served
That same day, Mt. Carmel Police arrested 38-year-old Michael T. Walker of Mt. Carmel after police located him in the 1000 block of W. 6th Street. The arresting officer knew Walker was wanted on an Edwards County Warrant. Walker was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $100.00.

On March 2, MCPD arrested Jamie E. Goldman, 35 of Mt. Carmel for DUI after she called the police to request a standby at Casey’s. According to the police report, Goldman told dispatch that she wanted an officer to standby while she got donuts because the cashier was being rude to her. Police arrived on scene and were told that Goldman had already left the store. Police then observed Goldman pull into the parking lot. The officer spoke with her and reported that he believed she was under the influence and therefore arrested her for DUI. Goldman was transported to the Wabash County Jail and released after posting bond.
Deputy helps make arrest
That same day, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brandon S. Cooper, 24 of Mt. Carmel, after police obtained an arrest warrant charging him with Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer. An off-duty Wabash County Deputy observed Cooper in a 2012 Chevrolet and notified Mt. Carmel City Police. Cooper was located in the area of Third and Walnut streets. Cooper was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $7,538.00.
First possession, then delivery
Also on the 2nd, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brandon L. Garrett, 26 of Mt. Carmel, on two narcotics charges. Garrett has been charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine after the vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped by MCPD Officers. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Garrett was alleged to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Police transported him to the Wabash County Jail, where he was charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine. Then on Monday, March 4, Garrett was also charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine. Garrett is accused of selling methamphetamine to an undercover agent working with the Mt. Carmel Police Department. He’s being held pending the posting of bond.
Whoops…victim of beating has a warrant, too
On March 3, MCPD arrested David D. Sharp, 38 of Mt. Carmel, after he called the police in reference to an unwanted person. When police arrived on scene they reportedly found a male subject beaten upon the body and face. Sharp advised he caused injury to the victim because he wanted the victim to leave his residence. The victim claims he was attacked after consuming alcohol with the suspect and was never told to leave. The victim was treated by EMS but refused further treatment. Sharp was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer. Sharp was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the setting and posting of bond. The victim was identified as James T. Carlile, 36 of Mt. Carmel. After Carlile was treated for his injuries, Carlile was arrested on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant and a Miller County, Missouri, failure to appear warrant. Carlile was transported to the Wabash County Jail and is being held without bond
