AURORA, Ill. - A shooting has occurred at a manufacturing facility in Aurora in upstate Illinois, and reports are indicating that the individual responsible for it is in custody.

That's about all that's being disseminated, however, in the situation that began at a little after 2 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, February 15, at the Henry Pratt Company, located in suburban Aurora up in Kane County.

Reports indicate that the man was recognized by those surviving the attack as a co-worker, and one individual who was able to get out of the building told reporters and responders that the man had a pistol with a laser scope on it and was "shooting indiscriminately" at fellow workers.

Police responded to the scene at about 2:20 p.m., and four officers were struck by gunfire. A number of civilians were also struck by gunfire, but the exact number has not been reported yet.

At about 3 p.m., the City of Aurora reported on its social media page that the shooter was in custody, but no further info was available.

If it becomes so, we'll post. Be watching.
