Harold Littlefield Jr.

CARMI, Ill. - A Norris City guy who has repeatedly been given a pass for drug arrests over the years has been busted once again in Carmi, and he was able to post a whopping bond amount to secure his release Wednesday.

Whether this set of charges will stick to Harold D. Littlefield, 57, or not remains unknown at this time, however.

Carmi Police report that Littlefield was stopped on Smith Street at Eighth Street in Carmi on Wednesday (February 13) at 12:04 p.m. and was initially cited for Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

However, for whatever reason (perhaps it was just because it was Littlefield), authorities decided to bring in a K9, and an exterior sniff of the vehicle was performed. The K9 gave positive indication that there were drugs inside the vehicle, and upon a search, police found a long glass pipe with white residue, which tested positive for meth.

There was a passenger in the vehicle who was released, but Littlefield was arrested and charged with Possession of Meth, Unlawful Use of Property and Possession of Paraphernalia along with the traffic citation.

His documents show that he was able to post $7,500 cash to secure his release, which is a rather unusual thing and might play against him when all is said and done.

Carmi Police advise that they were assisted by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force and the Mt. Carmel Police Department K9 Unit.
