WHITE CO., Ill. - A Grayville man who admitted to violation of probation that the court had previously imposed upon him was sentenced to IDOC earlier today as punishment.

Andrew J. McKenzie, 38, is the new convict in question.

White County State's Attorney Denton Aud said that McKenzie, who was arrested on the original charge of Theft last May, entered a plea of guilty to the Class 4 felony after effectively having entered plea to same last July and being put on two years' probation.

He failed to appear for a subsequent hearings starting in November 2018, and warrants for his arrest were then issued.

After spending a bit of time in jail, apparently the message got through to McKenzie, and today he was amenable to the plea, taking two years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole.

McKenzie still owes $1.089 in fines and fees ordered, none of which have been paid.

Carmi PD was the investigating agency.
