SALINE CO., Ill. - Another traffic crash occurred last night on U.S. 45 at Muddy Road, but fortunately, no one lost their life in this one.
Illinois State Police are attributing the crash to driving too fast for conditions, however, considering that it occurred when the snow was flying last night (Friday, January 11) at five til 7 p.m.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, a 2016 Cadillac SRX being driven by Ida M. Haney, 70 of Eldorado, was traveling southbound on U.S. 45 at Muddy Road and lost control on the
snow-covered roadway, traveling over into the northbound lane.
There, Haney's Caddy struck a 2008 Peterbilt truck-tractor/semi trailer being driven by Eddy J. Debose, 53, of Carmi.
Debose was uninjured; Haney, however, was transported to a local hospital.
The Illinois State Police was assisted on scene by the Harrisburg Police Department, Saline County Sheriff’s
Department, and Saline County Ambulance.
