WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - On January 8, 2019, a Williamson County judge sentenced Braylen Rodriguez, 21, of Meredosia, Illinois, to three years in IDOC for a January 2018 burglary.

The burglary, a Class 2 felony, occurred on January 9, 2018 to a vehicle parked at the Econolodge Motel parking lot in Marion. Rodriguez was placed in the First Offender Initiative Program in April 2018, but failed to meet the terms of the program and was subsequently sentenced for the burglary.

Rodriguez will be under one year of mandatory supervised release following his release from DOC.

“This defendant was given a second chance with the First Offender Initiative Program,” said State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti, “and it didn’t take him long to ruin that chance. I commend the Marion Police Department for their great work in this case.”
