CLARK CO., Ill. - An elderly driver from Pennsylvania was transported to an Indiana hospital this morning for treatment of injuries sustained in a Clark County interstate crash, which Illinois State Police are attributing to ice.
ISP in District 12 Effingham report that the single-vehicle accident occurred this morning, Wednesday, December 5, at 7:08 a.m.
ISP said the preliminary investigative details indicate that a 2000 white Chevrolet Astro van being driven by Jeffrey Reiland, 72, of Pennsylvania, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 near milepost 154 just east of Marshall.
Reiland reportedly lost control on an ice-covered overpass and left the roadway, entering the median and overturning numerous times.
Reiland was transported by Marshall Ambulance to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind., with unspecified injuries.
No citations were issued.
