CLARK CO., Ill. - A single-vehicle crash early this morning (Sunday, November 25) claimed the life of a young woman from Marshall, Illinois State Police has reported.
ISP said the crash occurred on Illinois Route 1 approximately two miles north of Marshall at 3:15 a.m. this morning.
Preliminary investigative details indicate that a 2004 red Saturn 4-door passenger car being driven by Tania M. Wycoff, 22, of Marshall, was traveling north on Route 1 at a high rate of speed and left the roadway for unknown reasons.
The Saturn struck an embankment and rolled several times. ISP said Wycoff was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
The accident is still under investigation by ISP.
