So to help you out of your quandary, every so often we're going to provide you with PRINT HEADLINES from past issues that we didn't get to the website here due to extreme busy-ness and/or illness (Lyme, remember)....and this is just such an offering. Since we're going backwards with this (last one was July 2018's), we'll do June 2018...so let's get to it.

HARRISBURG - Mayoral bid prompting outrage in Harrisburg: This article was the big selling point in Saline County, as most people with sense are sick of Eric Gregg and his ongoing battle to regain his seat on the Prisoner Review Board (which is at the Illinois Supreme Court right now)...which begs the question: If he seeks the seat of mayor next year and wins, then wins his seat back on the PRB, is he going to resign the office of mayor, like we forced him to do in 2013...? I mean, it never ends with this guy and his wasting of OUR taxpayer dollars. I guess we'll see here in a couple of weeks, since that's petition-getting time.

Bob Winchester

HARDIN CO. - Republican Party sued in Fed Court: Bob Winchester, of Hardin County, is something of a legend in downstate. And it appears that he was pretty well wronged back early this year. Read all about that at the link.

Danny English

OLNEY - Arrested after assault at Olney gas station: A lot of people believe that Danny English brings his misfortunes upon himself because he's brash, obnoxious and overt. He is all of those things...but that's not a valid reason to not charge someone when they commit a crime against him. We're getting kinda sick of that happycrappy.

EDWARDS CO. - OP issued after violent behavior: And then sometimes it takes a LONG time to bring a crim to justice...as evidenced here in this article, one of the last about crazed Marcus Adams, who's been filling the pages of this publication over the past decade.

ILLINOIS/KENTUCKY/INDIANA - Three-state, 8-county varying-speed chase nets Hamilton County guy and chick named Sharmin: Just when you thought you couldn't get enough of the dim Michael Kennedy (because we covered it extensively when it happened), we come up with more material and plenty of backstory.

And I'm betting you didn't hear ONE WORD about this in mainstream media up that way.

CLAY CO. - Man who was driving truck woman jumped from in 2015 has two OPs filed against him: But, yall...heessa GRAYT GAH!! So sayeth his relatives, we're assuming...it's unlikely anyone else would claim him.

RICHLAND CO. - 'Taz' Laird busted on OP violation: There's rarely a time when we would have to look for an excuse to roll out Chris 'Taz' Laird's criminal history...it generally happens every time he's NOT in IDOC, which are coming further and farther between.

SALINE CO. - Will civil courts evict Curry, since crim courts won't? Of course 'eviction' here simply means "get him away from the neighbors by any means possible before he kills one of them," this despite the fact that the article is about a foreclosure on his ratty Wasson Road abode.

LAWRENCE CO. - Suspected dope cook caught with hot iPhone and meth - a real Tewell: You pronounce that name "tool," not "jewel." You mighta figured that out, however.

EDWARDS CO. - Indiana pair charged in Edwards as drug dealers: Sharp-eyed cops made the stop.

WHITE CO. - Carmi man accused of attacking girlfriend: Such a sad sack.

RICHLAND CO. - Former suspected Louisville drug dealer screws up shot at rehab, AGAIN: It seems to happen a lot between Clay and Richland.
