MARION CO., Ill. - A second ice-related accident occurred on the interstate in Marion County Friday night, just hours after the first one happened as outlined in this report...and this one involved yet another Clay County resident.

The second one happened on I-57 northbound at milepost 119 in Marion County at 11:44 p.m. last night, Friday, November 9.

The preliminary report as issued by Illinois State Police in District 12 Effingham shows that a white 2005 Ford F-150 being driven by Morgan N. Boyd, 27 of Louisville in Clay County, was attempting to pass another vehicle when it lost control and began to slice on the icy roadway.

The truck then overcorrected and left the roadway to the right, overturning several times and coming to rest in a field.

Boyd was transported by Rural Med to Salem Township Hospital.

Boyd was subsequently cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Driver Not Wearing Seatbelt, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Boyd's condition was not indicated by ISP.
