WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - Williamson County Fire Protection District will be fighting for the child of one of their own.

WCFPD will take on area police officers in a basketball game this Friday (November 9) at 6 p.m. at the Washington Grade School gym on East Main Street in Marion to raise funds for the family of 10-month-old Blake Bullard. Blake is the son of Fire Captain Phillip and wife Amanda Bullard. Baby Blake has spent several weeks in a St. Louis children’s hospital after going septic in connection with an infection.

Marion City Commissioner Angelo Hightower organized the event to help the family offset the expenses of traveling back and forth.

Players for the Williamson County Fire Protection District are:

Steve Abbott, Jonathan Stephens, Gunner Galloway, Jaden Schell, Colton McCree, Shawn Galloway and Brian Glover. (we're hearing there are a few former Trojans on here and some pretty good dunkers.)

Playing for the Police are Marion officers Nick Triffo, Sgt. Matt Randolph, Officer Sam Ward, Officer Luke Pritchard and Sgt. Justin Francis. Also playing will be Officer Angelo Hightower of the Carterville Police Department, Lee Nguyen from the SIU police department and Dillon Turk from the Carbondale police department.
