WILLIAMSON CO.— An Energy man has been shipped to prison after prosecutors say a home surveillance recording caught him taking off with a truck that didn’t belong to him.
On October 15, 2018, Lester A. Taylor, 35 of Energy, pled guilty to theft, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
On July 9, 2018, Taylor committed the theft by stealing a truck from the driveway of a residence in Bush.
Through the use of surveillance camera footage, law enforcement was able to identify Taylor, and later apprehended him in Herrin.
Taylor has a criminal history, including prior convictions for burglaries and theft.
