WAYNE CO., Ill. - A woman from Henderson, Kentucky and a male juvenile from Fairfield were injured in a car-v-deer accident yesterday in Wayne County.
Illinois State Police in District 19 Carmi worked the accident, which occurred Sunday, October 28 at 8:35 p.m.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, Debora A. Krieg, 61, of Henderson and the juvenile male passenger, age 10, were traveling westbound in a gold 2010 Chevrolet Equinox on Interstate 64 at milepost 110.5.
The vehicle struck a deer in the roadway causing front end damage and air bag deployment.
Krieg and the juvenile male were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries they sustained in the crash. Both occupants were wearing their seat belts. The gold Chevrolet was towed from the scene.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by Wayne County Ambulance Service, Fairfield Rural Fire Department and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
