WHITE CO., Ill. - The Crossville felon and perpetual pest who's gone out of her way to not only scrub her online doings but to actually rename herself on Fecesbook has managed to get back on the authorities' radar, but this time as a victim and not the perp.
Patti Hyatt, 56, now known on Fecesbook as "Polly Hyatt" but known to most of Crossville as Crazy Patti, called White County from a closet in her home last night, whining that she'd been attacked by her live-in, the unfortunate (and unfortunately-named) Sherman Hilborn, 53.
The call came in at approximately 11 p.m. last night (Monday, October 22), the sheriff's office reported, with both C.Patti and Hilborn, upon the deputies' arrival at 706 W. Main Street in Crossville, walking out the door of the trailer together, so the closet stay was evidently short-lived.
The sheriff's report noted that when Hilborn saw the officers, he was hollering to them that "Patti was lying and he was not going to jail over her bullsh!t." At that point he started walking away from the residence, at which the officer (Deputy Scott Cantrell) reacted by telling Hilborn to stop. Hilborn stated he was leaving, but the other officer, Carmi Police Sgt. Dustin Buttry, caught up to him and persuaded him to stay until Cantrell could speak to Hyatt.
When Hyatt did speak to Cantrell, she advised that Hilborn got mad at her because she was going the next day to get an order of protection against him to get him out of the trailer (full disclosure: C.Patti has a really bad habit of filing frivolous OPs then getting them dismissed by not showing up, which we've covered in the print version in the past.)
She then stated that he slapped her with his hand on the side of her head and hurt her ear. She stated he also took her phone away and scratched her wrist during that process. Cantrell looked at C.Patti's ear and observed that it was red and swollen. He also saw the small scratch on her wrist to which she was referring. The deputy asked her if she needed medical attention and she refused that offer, advising only that she was okay except for the ringing in her ear from being hit. Cantrell took photos of Hyatt's ear and wrist; she gave a written statement, signing a complaint against Hilborn for Domestic Battery.
When Cantrell spoke with Hilborn, Hilborn advised that Hyatt was lying. He stated he was already in bed when she came in and started yelling at him to get up and out of the house. He stated the phone was in his lap and she grabbed the phone away from him and called the cops.
However, Cantrell explained that Hyatt had signed a complaint against Hilborn, and so Hilborn was arrested and toted off to the county jail.
